maar het is McLaren gelukt. Voorzien van relatief veel bagageruimte en veel beschikbare opties. De Spider werd in 2017 geïntroduceerd

twee jaar na de coupé en dit is de meest geliefde uitvoering. Deze Spider Launch Edition is in 2018 gebouwd en nieuw geleverd in Dubai. In 2022 is hij geregistreerd op Nederlands kenteken.
